Product Lifecycle Manager
We are looking for a Product Lifecycle Manager for our Westbury NY facility. In this role you will manage the development and implementation process of a company’s product and process lifecycles. You will coordinate departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or changes to existing products or processes. The Product Lifecycle Manager will follow and maintain the Global Processes related to all aspects of product Modifications, product and process changes within their Product Portfolio, as well as, monitor programs from RFP approval through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring costs. This role requires the incumbent to organize cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the program (i.e. product or process on schedule and within budget constraints), monitor sales and margin development for all products, and provide feedback to PM. They must work with Sourcing/Operations to initiate actions to improve margins, and will lead technical projects focused on the development, production, test, and support of product/process validation and, release to customers.
Your Responsibilities:
- You will work closely with the business and operations leadership, including executive leadership at OM to define the projects and provide updates on the program.
- Critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of the project such as project planning, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation planning.
- Prepare project kickoff and timelines in accordance with approved RFQs and ensure the ongoing business case is valid. Along with business initiatives, you will also lead the definition and execution of strategic projects aimed at reducing the total time to market for launch.
- Provide lifecycle management skills to the development of new products and direction of team members. Utilize strong influence and persuasion skills to facilitate accomplishing goals across several functional groups
- Will have end-to-end ownership of cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap planning, resource planning, and project execution.
- Work closely with the development teams comprised of R&D, Process Engineering, Regulatory, Product Managers, QA and play a leadership role in project structure.
- Propel lifecycle management through the entire design cycle. This should include: pre-sale customer interactions, generation of design, prototyping, launch, manufacture, technical support, maintenance, and discontinuation.
- Able to work through constraints of budget, timelines, schedules, and scope while adhering to engineering and quality processes and methodologies
- Responsible for development of and/or ensuring that product deliverables and specifications are met.
- Support production through all phases of production
- You will be responsible for making project decisions, and achieving tactical goals while retaining a strategic focus
- For this position it is required to be onsite in Westbury, NY.
Your Profile:
- Education: requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to reason in “real-time”.
- Advanced problem-solving skills utilizing science and engineering education to arrive at practical solutions.
- Ability to work across many functional departments. Persuade and influence without supervising directly.
- Exceptional organization skills.
- Ability to participate, lead, and mentor in a team environment.
- Proficiency with project management tools divide complex projects into related sub-tasks, manage critical path tasks, and track and deploy resources in EtQ.
- Must have the ability to project a positive, professional, and customer-responsive image.
- Strong analytical abilities and general business skills and experience.
- Travel domestically and internationally will likely be required
- Experience in R&D and the manufacturing environment, a plus.
- Knowledge of materials, metallurgy, or other similar engineering disciplines, a plus.

For individuals assigned, hired to work or working remotely in/out of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Nevada, Washington State, or New York City, Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $110,880.00 to $152,460.00 per year. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
