How you can make a difference  

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven General Manager, Product Management - Card to lead the strategy, development, and execution of our card product portfolio. This role will have full P&L responsibility and will be instrumental in driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned product leader with deep expertise in the card payments industry, a strong understanding of financial metrics, and a proven ability to manage complex products and teams.

 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for our card products, aligned with overall business objectives.  
    • Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive trends to drive product innovation.
    • Define product vision, goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Product Development and Lifecycle Management:
    • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch and ongoing management.
    • Define product requirements, develop detailed specifications, and collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure successful product delivery.
    • Manage product enhancements, feature prioritization, and bug fixes.
  • P&L Management:
    • Own the P&L for the card product portfolio, with responsibility for revenue generation, cost management, and profitability.
    • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
    • Identify and implement strategies to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Card Business Expertise:
    • Leverage deep understanding of the card business, including debit and credit card products, issuing processes, and industry best practices.
    • Analyze and optimize key card business metrics, including approval rates, activation rates, card order rates, interchange metrics, and decline rates.
    • Develop strategies to improve cardholder engagement, usage, and retention.
  • Interchange Optimization:
    • Maximize interchange revenue through strategic product design, pricing, and transaction routing optimization.
    • Stay up-to-date on interchange regulations and industry trends.
  • Partnership Management:
    • Manage relationships with card networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard), processors, and other key partners.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with partners.
    • Collaborate with partners to develop new products and services.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of product managers, analysts, and other personnel.
    • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
    • Manage product-related risks and implement appropriate controls.

 

 

 

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on card payments.  
  • Proven experience in managing the full product lifecycle for card products.
  • Deep understanding of the card business, including issuer-side operations, card network rules, and payment processing.
  • Expertise in optimizing interchange revenue and managing card business metrics.
  • Experience in working with card networks and processors.
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L management experience, with a proven track record of managing P&Ls of $200M or greater.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range

$175500.00 To $289500.00 / year

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
