What will you be doing?

This is a unique position for a talented, versatile, and pragmatic commercial generalist with good organizational ability, keen negotiating skill and strong business and financial acumen. As a member of Circana’s legal team, you will have primary responsibility for supporting Circana’s procurement team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, negotiate and interpret a variety of vendor and partner agreements, including software and technology agreements, privacy-related agreements and addenda, as well as other agreements arising out of Circana’s domestic and international operations.
  • Provide ongoing and proactive strategic advice regarding operational and financial business risks, and counsel on contract interpretation and potential dispute issues. 
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of company policies and best practices.
  • Research international legal and regulatory matters and provide direction to procurement team and other stakeholders.
  • Proactively and cost-effectively monitor and manage potential disputes, and keep stakeholders advised regarding the status of those disputes.
  • Support the procurement team’s strategic projects and vendor performance management.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school with proven academic success, and a license to practice in the State in which employed.
  • Minimum of five years relevant commercial generalist experience, including hands-on experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating and interpreting a variety of sophisticated agreements. Preference for experience in software and technology agreements.
  • Strong business and financial acumen and the ability to understand our business, and vendors’ and partners’ businesses, proactively.
  • Ability to identify the aspects of an agreement or transaction that matter the most, and be proactive in addressing potential issues. Proven ability to partner effectively with a procurement function, and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent client management skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and trust with senior management and other professionals at all levels of the organization by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity and personal style.
  • Outstanding judgment, flexibility and strong analytic ability, with an ability to determine, prioritize and resolve issues proactively. Creativity and resourcefulness, with a drive to achieve positive results.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple workstreams independently.
  • Eagerness to learn about the industry and comfortable guiding through gray areas.

Location

This position can be located in the following area(s): Remote US – Preferably East Coast.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $120,000.00 to $150,000.00. 

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
