Principal Software Engineer, Orders Pricing

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the evolution of our complex order pricing architecture, transforming it into a powerful, adaptable platform that drives innovation, fuels growth into new markets, and directly impacts our customers' success with every transaction. You'll shape the future of our pricing technology and create a foundation that empowers our teams to innovate faster and our business to outpace competitors in an ever-changing market.  

The problem-space is both critical and complex. Calculating the price of an Order requires considering many factors: taxes, service charges, discounts, promotions, fees, tips, loyalty, timing of the order, and more. Restaurants rely on us to get this right, whether their devices are online or offline, and no matter how complex their configuration is. Not only does it impact every single transaction at the restaurant, it also impacts the restaurant’s financial integrity and ability to comply with tax laws. 

On the Orders Pricing team, we build a platform that meets these high-stakes requirements while remaining easy for other developers to build upon. Pricing is a core feature that supports innovation across many teams at Toast, and our ability to evolve this platform is directly tied to our business's growth and success.
