Principal Software Engineer, Full Stack (Human AI Innovation Team) - NY - Remote

We are looking for a technical leader to join the Human AI Innovation (HAI) team which is part of Dataminr’s AI Platform Organization. HAI builds cutting-edge AI-enabled applications for efficient human-in-the-loop AI workflows, to improve LLMs, and to collect domain expert data for fine-tuning and training AI models from scratch.

As a Principal Software Engineer in the HAI team, you will drive technical strategy and execution in efficiently combining human and AI tasks by building high-quality prototypes and production-ready features, working closely in collaboration with AI research scientists, designers, and engineers to bring innovative, applied AI research into production, at very large scale. This US-based role can be remote or based out of our New York City office.

The opportunity 

  • Design, architect, and implement AI-driven applications and workflows following industry best practices

  • Collaborate with a multinational team of AI researchers, designers, scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver innovative human-AI tools and workflows (both high-quality prototypes and production-ready applications). 

  • Lead strategy and execution for future iterations of our internal pipeline and human-AI collaboration interfaces to accommodate evolving business needs.

  • Provide technical leadership and work with other team members to help set clear and well-structured guidelines for development

  • Excel at human-centered design and development processes and building AI-enabled tools and workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale, distributed software applications.

  • Proven track record of mentorship and modeling strong engineering practices through hands-on coding.

  • Strong design sense and skills to build visually appealing prototypes that follow good user interaction guidelines and integrate well with existing and new workflows.

  • Prior professional experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

  • Experience with Java, Scala, Python and/or other object-oriented programming languages.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Colorado, New York, California, Washington only: The salary range for this position is as indicated below. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience, among other factors. Please note this salary range does not include any potential bonus or commissions tied to this role and is related to the fixed salary only. 

Colorado: $180,000 - $203,000

New York/California/Washington: $200,000 - $222,500
