Principal Service Designer

Remote

Job Type Full-time Description

About Us

eSimplicity is a modern digital services company that works across government, partnering with our clients to improve the health and lives of millions of Americans, ensure the security of all Americans—from soldiers and veterans to kids and the elderly, and defend national interests on the battlefield. Our engineers, designers, and strategists cut through complexity to create intuitive products and services that courageously equip Federal agencies with solutions to transform today for a better tomorrow for all Americans.

The Principal Service Designer will have the opportunity to work with our multifunctional product team as they build out a critical service offering for our government client. Their primary responsibility will be leading a team of service designers building a critical enterprise platform for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

They'll have the opportunity to develop strategic initiatives and work with our client to establish human-centered design methods and best practices for the project, while getting hands-on supporting the day-to-day work of user research, prototype development, and service design. We're looking for folks with a blend of managerial and craft skills, with excellent stakeholder management. The specific disciplinary background is less important than a demonstrated history of impactful delivery, especially for government or healthcare customers.

As a Principal, they will be expected to deliver high quality product design while contributing actively to the growth of our practice and overall digital services business.

  • Establish best practices for service design on the project and educate relevant stakeholders about customer-centricity. Serve as an advocate and change champion with stakeholders for a user centric, research based, and design driven culture.
  • Contribute to eSimplicity's HCD community of practice through mentorship, process development, and hiring support, while building out our partners' HCD research knowledge base and practice development as necessary and relevant.
  • Lead business development efforts, including preparation of proposal materials or participation in adjacent activities, as necessary.
