About the Role
Pearson is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Principal Scheduler to join our School Assessment team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive project schedules for multiple projects and programs, ensuring alignment with internal and customer deliverables. Your efforts will play a critical role in meeting deadlines and delivering quality outcomes for our clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for creating schedules that align with project scope, processes, resources, and deadlines.
- Collaborate internally to establish schedules that optimize resource allocation for client or customer needs.
- Monitor and track schedule progress weekly in coordination with functional and portfolio project management teams.
- Ensure adherence to scheduling best practices and procedures across all projects.
- Negotiate across functional departments to maintain critical project schedules.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of process improvements for more efficient scheduling.
- Identify and manage risks and incidents related to scheduling.
- Facilitate Post Project Review processes for specific projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of project management experience (scheduling experience preferred).
- Experience working with external clients and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to follow processes and collaborate effectively.

- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Process-driven with a desire to embrace and lead process improvements.
- Proficient in Smartsheet (preferred).
- Background in assessment or education (preferred).
- Self-motivated learner, eager to understand Pearson’s offerings in School Assessment.
- Outstanding project/program management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively throughout the project lifecycle.

What to expect from Pearson
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $70,000 - $80,000
