A Brief Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Program Manager to join our Data and Analytics Team. As the Principal Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the oversight and successful delivery of complex programs and initiatives within our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, assist in establishing program governance, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Your strong program management skills, strategic mindset, and ability to navigate complex projects will be instrumental in achieving our company's goals.

What you will do

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the portfolio of Data and Analytics projects, continuously ensuring they align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Prioritization: Develop and implement prioritization frameworks to ensure the most critical projects receive appropriate resources and attention.
  • Program Planning and Strategy: Assist in defining program objectives, scope, and success criteria in alignment with organizational goals. Support the development and communication of program strategy, roadmap, and timelines.
  • Program Governance: Help establish and maintain effective program governance structures, including steering committees, working groups, and project teams. Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and escalation mechanisms are in place.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identify and engage stakeholders across various levels and functions to ensure clear communication, alignment, and support throughout the program lifecycle. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Program Execution: Support the execution of programs, overseeing all aspects of program management, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Monitor progress, identify risks and issues, and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Resource Planning and Allocation: Collaborate with functional leaders to identify and secure necessary resources, both human and material, required for program success. Optimize resource allocation and manage dependencies between projects and workstreams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and coordination across different teams, departments, and external vendors or partners involved in program delivery. Facilitate effective communication and decision-making processes.
  • Program Performance and Metrics: Develop and implement program performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track progress, measure outcomes, and communicate program status to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and increased efficiency within the program management function. Champion best practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement across programs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess program risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Establish effective risk management processes and ensure appropriate risk response actions are taken.
  • Program Closure and Transition: Assist in  the closure of programs, ensuring successful handover to operational teams or other stakeholders. Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and drive future program improvements.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred 

Experience Qualifications

  • Typically 10+ years’ experience in program management, project management, or related roles, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex programs. 

Skills and Abilities

  • Program Management Expertise:  Strong knowledge of Agile program management methodologies and best practices. Experience in the assistance of delivering programs from initiation to closure, including planning, execution, and monitoring. 
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic mindset with the ability to align programs with business objectives and translate and communicate the strategies, roadmaps and timelines into actionable plans. 
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills in driving program execution, fostering collaboration, and influencing stakeholders. Ability to lead by example and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Program Management Tools: Experience working with program planning and documentation tools such as Monday.com, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex information, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Experience working with analytical tools such as Tableau and Power BI a plus.
  • Communication and Influencing: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas to diverse audiences and influence key stakeholders. 
  • Change Management: Experience in managing change within organizations, including stakeholder engagement, communication, and change adoption strategies. 
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and navigate ambiguity. 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI preferred 
  • PgMP - Program Management Professional preferred

The salary range for this role is $103,700 to $273,700. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience. 

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
