Gusto is at an meaningful inflection point in our scale. We are solving an ever increasing and more complex set of jobs to be done for our customers and we care deeply about doing it in a way that feels integrated and cohesive. We are investing in Time & Attendance in 2024 with the goal of helping our SMB customers and their teams streamline their daily operations and costs via native time tracking, project tracking, scheduling, and more.

About the Role:

As a Principal Product Manager, Time & Attendance, you will be part of the leadership team defining and driving the strategy and evolution of this growing product suite and business for Gusto. You’ll bring strong product management and business leadership to the team, as well as a consistent track record of success in fast-growing organizations. Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Develop innovative and industry-leading products across desktop, mobile, and native platforms that serve Gusto’s SMB customers.
  • Work alongside a skilled and diverse team of Product Managers, Product Designers, Engineers, Product Marketers, and Data Scientists to set the vision for Gusto’s Time products.
  • Lead your team in defining and executing on a set of product strategies to make progress towards the Time product vision and business goals.
  • Help shape our product development processes, org structure, and best practices as we continue to grow.
  • Foster an environment that enables the team to execute quickly while maintaining a high standard for quality.
  • Operate cross-functionally and build strong partnerships with product and business teams across the company in delivering excellent products and services.
  • Influence key stakeholders throughout Gusto in order to align intent, resources, and prioritization.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of product management experience.
  • A collaborative approach: You have a track record of building consensus and delivering results with cross-functional partners.
    • You have experience working through problems with high ambiguity and without a definitive answer.
  • Vision: You’ve formed, gained buy-in, and driven key strategies shaping the multi-year direction of your product and business.
  • Results: You have a proven track record of shipping simple, elegant products at scale.
    • You’ve developed industry-leading products that have gained a strong followership and product loyalty.
  • Efficiency: You have excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Analytical skills: You have a great ability to absorb and apply data to your decision making.
  • Execution: You’re scrappy, solution-oriented, and able to help the team push through obstacles and blockers to deliver value for our customers.
  • Communication: You’re regarded as an effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Customer empathy: You have experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $181,000 to $223,000 in Denver & most major metro locations, and $212,000 to $262,000 for San Francisco, New York, & Seattle. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. 

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
