Innovation Engineering Department
The Innovation Engineering team is responsible for the development of standards, templates, specifications, and ownerâs requirements documents in support of Vantageâs global growth, most notably leading the Vantage prototyping effort known as OneDesign.
The team collaborates with all multi-functional teams within Vantage to drive prototypical designs for global deployment to ensure high quality, consistent product deployments in alignment with constantly evolving internal and external customer requirements. In addition to standards development, the Innovation Engineering team is responsible for leading due diligence assessment of merger and acquisition opportunity, and development of design requirements for customer build to suit opportunities.
Position Overview Â
Vantage is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be part of the Innovation Engineering team that leads the standardization of products across Vantageâs companywide portfolio. Â
In this role you will be responsible for design development of large-scale industrial chiller plants and develop associated standards and specification, to enable establishing a procurement program.Â
Regular collaboration and coordination will be required with architects, other engineering fields, procurement, and facility operations team. You will work with the regional design and execution teams to ensure that new standards are established, and existing standards are implemented and coordinate any enhancements required to be incorporated into the standard design and specifications.Â
Knowledge of all aspects of mechanical engineering is required, including central utility plants, built-up mechanical rooms, packaged equipment, chilled water equipment and piping, DX systems, airside and water-side economization, humidity control, raised access floor plenums, and value engineering as they relate to designing state-of-the-art datacenters. Knowledge in the areas of plumbing and fire protection design for data centers is helpful.Â
This role is fully remote in the US, travel is required (see Job Requirements).
