Principal Finance Systems

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Finance Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team. In this role, you will take ownership of the strategic management, development, and optimization of our financial systems, particularly D365 F&O and other critical accounting platforms. You will be responsible for leading high-impact projects, driving process improvements, and ensuring system efficiency across the organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Systems Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for all financial systems-related issues, with increased responsibilities over governance, strategy, and system integrations. 

What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic leadership in the support and improvement of financial systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP, to meet evolving business needs.
• Serve as the key liaison between the Finance team and the Business Applications Team, ensuring optimal system performance and driving forward-thinking improvements.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end documentation and maintenance of financial system processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to identify, scope, and execute enhancements and optimization projects in financial systems and processes, with a focus on driving efficiency and scalability. Develop and implement system upgrades, enhancements, and new modules, ensuring alignment with long-term organizational strategy and financial goals.
• Manage the planning and execution of system testing, ensuring comprehensive validation and smooth rollout of updates and improvements.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to end-users across the organization, enabling effective use of financial systems and driving adoption of best practices.
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Technology department to align financial system configurations with organizational goals and ensure seamless system integration.
• Oversee the maintenance and development of system integrations, lead solution design assessments, and coordinate system update schedules in alignment with business objectives.
• Ensure the integrity of financial data within accounting systems, with direct responsibility for system controls that impact financial statements and operational reporting.
• Lead high impact financial system initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to business operations. Champion automation initiatives to streamline financial processes, improve accuracy, and reduce manual efforts.
• Act as a subject matter expert on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance financial system capabilities.
• Lead governance and compliance efforts for financial systems, ensuring systems adhere to regulatory and company standards, and implementing controls to mitigate risk.
