PyRITS (Python REA Impact Tracking System) is a web-based application maintained by Pratt & Whitney for tracking internal engineering authorization requests. As part of the PyRITS team, the P3 Senior Software Engineer is responsible for ensuring constant uptime on the application as well as accommodating a steady stream of requests from users to patch defects, extend existing functionality, and add new utilities to the platform. The role may also be called upon to develop for other P&W systems that are adjacent to or communicate with PyRITS.
The ideal candidate has a full-stack background with signifcant experience using Python and developing for the web. Hands-on experience with Flask is essential for work on the PyRITS platform, while familiarity with HTML, CSS, and particularly JavaScript will go a long way. Interpersonal and communication skills will allow this candidate to excel at the company, as the software engineer will be tasked with occasionally reaching out to stakeholders for clarification and feedback on requests.
