Mazzetti's Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Consulting Engineering Practice is dedicated to designing high performance, resilience, and sustainable solutions for the built environment, with a keen focus on Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Infrastructure projects. Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Principal Engineer to drive growth, cultivate client relationships, and lead a talented technical team in Seattle with expertise on healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will harness their deep knowledge and connections in healthcare to amplify Mazzetti’s presence in the region while supporting the delivery of Mazzetti’s projects.

Work Location
This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, Washington. The candidate may occasionally work from Mazzetti’s Seattle Office and at local and regional project sites, but the majority of work can be performed from the candidate’s home.
Your Tasks Will Involve
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Serve as a key leader of Mazzetti’s Healthcare and Life Sciences consultative team in the Seattle area.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, deeply understanding their needs and aligning Mazzetti’s services to exceed expectations.
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with healthcare clients through regular engagement and value-driven interactions.
- Represent Mazzetti at industry events, conferences, and community engagements to enhance brand recognition and expand client networks.
- Collaborate with clients to shape project scopes and identify innovative solutions that address their unique challenges.
- Leverage your local expertise and connections to open new business opportunities in the Seattle region.
Project Delivery & Team Leadership
- Champion client satisfaction by ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality.
- Lead and inspire a technical team to deliver innovative, client-centered solutions.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture focused on achieving client goals and delivering measurable results.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, aligning their professional growth with project success.
Travel Requirements: up to 10% locally, regionally, and nationally
Expertise And Abilities You Will Contribute
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in building systems design (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Extensive experience in healthcare and hospital design experience.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.
- Strong project management expertise with a client-centered approach, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership skills with the capacity to manage the technical work of local staff and a passion for mentorship.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Life sciences experience.
- Established network, or the ability to develop strong client relationships, in the Seattle healthcare market.

Compensation: The typical salary range for a Principal Engineer in Seattle, WA is $175,000 - $220,000. We are committed to equitable pay and will evaluate final compensation based on relevant experience and skills in alignment with internal equity and market data.
