As a Principal DevOps Engineer at Punchh, a part of PAR Technology, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and maintaining a highly scalable, resilient, and automated cloud infrastructure that powers restaurant operations worldwide. Director, DevOps Cloud Operations

What We’re Looking For:

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Cloud DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering roles

• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi) at enterprise scale

• Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Go, Bash) for infrastructure management and automation pipelines

• Extensive Kubernetes experience: deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments

• Advanced Linux Systems Administration and troubleshooting skills

• Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, SSL/TLS, VPNs, and Cloud Networking

Additional skills:

• Experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or GitOps methodologies

• Expertise in observability and monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, DataDog) and proactive incident management

• Security-focused mindset, with experience in IAM, secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), and compliance frameworks

• Leadership experience in mentoring engineers, driving DevOps best practices, and collaborating across teams

• Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to debugging and optimization

Unleash your potential: What you will be doing and owning: 

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a highly scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure for Punchh applications

• Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and reliable software delivery

• Drive automation across infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, and security to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design best-in-class observability, alerting, and incident response strategies

• Enhance security and compliance across cloud environments through best practices in access control, encryption, and audit logging

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and high-availability strategies to ensure platform reliability

• Mentor and guide DevOps engineers to elevate their technical skills and contribute to a culture of excellence

• Evaluate and integrate emerging DevOps tools and technologies to enhance platform capabilities
