Meta is currently seeking a visionary Principal Concept Artist to work with team leaders to uphold and communicate a cohesive vision for the Metaverse. The ideal candidate will have extensive background in real time immersive experiences and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative, semi-structured environment. This person would be a principal artist who sets creative vision with their world level talent.Principal Concept Artist Responsibilities
- Drive, influence, and elevate product strategy through hands on craft
- Communicate visual goals and manage expectations with cross-functional internal and external partners
- Define and evolve artistic direction, aesthetics, ideation, design and vision within the immediate team and in direct collaboration with creative, external partners
- Collaborate on the creation of style guides, presentations, and related materials for internal and external teams
- Create production concepts, storyboards, and polished 2D assets. Use industry standard and proprietary tools to create content
- Collaborate with Creative Director, Art, Design, and Engineering to push the boundaries of immersive, multiplayer VR experiences within Horizon technology
- Collaborate with marketing and brand to ensure our product tone is cohesive across all aspects of the user journey
- Shipped 2-5 AAA or studio VR projects as an Art Director or Principle Concept Artist
- Experience working with partners drive successful visual compromises under performance constraints
- Experience conceptualizing ideas through visual development from rough thumbnails to polished final deliverables, and an understanding of translating these ideas to real-time content
- Experience defining visual targets within different art styles
- Keen product sense and experience spotting trends and opportunities for target audiences
- Proficient in industry standard art tools and experience working between 2D and 3D tool sets such as Photoshop, Maya, Modo, Zbrush or similar
- Self-driven, proactively improve skills by keeping aware of industry techniques
- Experience receiving and giving proven constructive feedback
- Organizational skills with experience setting priorities across multiple projects
- VR development experience and mobile experience
- Experience working in a User Generated Content product or creative Platform-As-A-Service product
- Experience in leading varied art styles, from realistic to caricature to abstract
