The Neuromodulation Global Communications team seeks a results driven Principal Communications Specialist with a sharp focus on executing high-impact PR campaigns, cultivating strong media relationships, and crafting persuasive, narrative-driven content. This individual will be instrumental in driving the success of our public relations initiatives. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

As a Principal Communications Specialist, you will:

  • Craft, edit, and proofread high-quality content, including press releases, investor presentations, speeches, and reports.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers; coordinate interviews and respond to media inquiries.

  • Develop clear and compelling messaging for financial audiences, including earnings announcements, shareholder updates, and annual reports.

  • Create engaging blog articles, videos, testimonials, and other content to promote and share the company’s story and successes.

  • Ensure compliance with communication standards, reviewing all materials for accuracy and adherence to applicable guidelines.

  • Support the development and execution of crisis communication plans, ensuring timely and effective responses to issues.

  • Organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Coordinate with executives, legal, and compliance teams to develop strategic messaging and ensure alignment on all communications.

  • Manage editorial calendars to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and brand consistency.

  • Assist in planning and executing communication strategies for corporate events, investor meetings, and conferences.

  • Monitor and analyze the impact of communication efforts, using metrics to refine and improve strategies.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a communications role or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree

  • Experience in communications in Healthcare or other highly regulated industry

  • Expertise in external and internal communications

  • Expertise navigating diverse cultural contexts and engaging with global audiences.

  • Proven ability to manage large-scale initiatives and deliver results under tight deadlines.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of developing innovative communications solutions.

  • Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions and regions.

  • Expertise with content management systems as SharePoint, Word Press

  • Experience in the MedTech or medical device industry.

  • Consumer-facing communications experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$108,000.00 - $162,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
