Primary and Competitive Research Associate

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week 

 

This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Role Overview: 

 

Manages and conducts both internal and external research and competitive intelligence projects. Primary contact with primary research partners once the project has been established, supports internal primary research efforts, and delivers competitive intelligence insights. Project manages the research agenda and ensures projects are completed with quality and in a timely manner. Assists with the design of questionnaires using in-house survey tool (Qualtrics) and conducts data analysis and reporting. Supports larger projects utilizing external vendors. Responsible for monitoring industry news, trends, competitive marketing strategies, and product changes.

 

What You’ll Do: 

 

• Responsible for the execution and analysis of quantitative and qualitative marketing research projects from inception through reporting, including the creation and analysis of research reports
• Using various tools to gather data, completes competitive analysis and research by identifying trends and patterns in the areas of product differentiation, pricing, distribution, marketing, and sales for our competitors
• Work with partner research vendors to ensure insights from research answer key business questions and align with the business practices we deploy 
• Responsible for driving a complete, accurate, and on time evaluation of competitors pricing and products to support the quarterly AARP QBR
• Conduct and report to senior management, annual deep dives into each product marketplace we produce products in a thoughtful, accurate and complete manner
• Research ad-hoc competitive questions, accurately and in a timely manner
• Compile, evaluate, and supplement quarterly on-boarding survey results
• Day to day relationship with competitive research partner - MINTEL
• Maintain the research repository

 

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Market Research or related field preferred
  • • Strong writing skills; building a story from the data
  • Excellent analytic skills
