Summary of Position:

As a member of The Princeton Review's Med Admissions Counseling (MAC) team, the Premier Med and Healthcare Admissions Expert serves as the primary point of contact for students enrolled in our Premier-level, Applicant Assessments, and Rejection Review MAC products. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in premedical student advising and/or medical school admissions, and who is deeply committed to helping students, including both undergraduates and non-traditional/career change students. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of supporting students and exceptional communication skills.

The Premier Admissions Expert is a distinguished professional in the field of medical admissions, requiring top-tier skills in organization, administration, writing, and editing. The ideal candidate will be proactive and resourceful, capable of managing complex tasks with ease and bringing order to chaotic situations. They will have a talent for building and maintaining relationships across different departments and will be driven to continuously improve the quality of their work. As a leader among our team of experts, the Premier-level Expert must keep up to date with all changes in the medical admissions field and be able to share this knowledge during professional development meetings. Additionally, we seek a candidate who is skilled in communicating complex information in a way that inspires and educates students, helping them make informed decisions.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • 1-on-1 coaching of up to 45Premier-level students per cycle throughout the premed process that can include up to 4 years prior to the actual submission of their application.
  • 1-on-1 coaching for students in the components of any healthcare (ex: Dental, Pharmacy, PA, Podiatry, Vet, etc.) professional program application. 
  • Complete intake assessments through teams and after the call complete, in written format an assessment including comprehensive feedback on student’s current eligibility and academic qualifications and planning insights to maximize each student’s application credentials.
  • Complete all the Applicant Assessments and Rejection Review calls, utilizing these calls as a pathway to bringing on referrals for Premier-level business.
  • Provide timely professional essay review and feedback for students writing med school and post-baccalaureate application components, including, but not limited to: Personal Statements, Experience/Activities, Most Meaningful Activities, School List Reviews, Secondary Application Essays, Statements of Purpose, MD/PhD application components, Letters of Intent and Continued Interests and Mock Interview Prep. 
  • Provide comprehensive and timely responses to student inquiries submitted through The Princeton Review’s online Med Admissions Counseling Dashboard.
  • Other projects and duties, as needed.

 

Education, Background, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three - five years medical admissions experience required; Doctorate Degree Preferred - ideally Medical Degree (MD or DO) beneficial and/or medical admissions committee experience.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial and creative spirit. 
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including public speaking. 
  • A record of professional development in admissions.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines and prioritize effectively. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve objectives. 
  • Track record of delivering strong customer service. 
  • Expertise in the premedical student journey and the medical school admissions process.
  • “Always a student” attitude, constantly working to maintain expertise by reading, listening, and conferring with other experts.  
  • High technical proficiency (Word, Outlook, Teams, Adobe Acrobat and Excel) and high-speed internet.

 

Salary: $85,000 - $133,000 per year, based on a 40-hour work week.
