Pre-Professional Advising at UW-Madison includes the Center for Pre-Health Advising (CPHA) and the Center for Pre-Law Advising (CPLA). The Centers serve undergraduates and alumni from all UW-Madison schools and colleges who are interested in pursuing graduate-level health professions programs or law school. The units are located in the William S. Middleton Building on campus. Pre-Professional Advising is committed to supporting efforts to increase access, equity, and diversity in the fields of health, law, and education.Anticipated Start Date:

The Graduate Intern will work ~10 hours per week over Spring 2025 and ~20 hours per week over Summer 2025. This position will start in early February and end at the end of August, with potential continuation through the next academic year. Continuation will be dependent on funding and mutual agreement. General office hours are between 8:30 am - 5 pm, M-F, with occasional, pre-planned weekend or evening hours.Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

- Strong interest in developing and facilitating effective educational programming

Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Pre-Professional Advising Graduate Intern for Programming & Outreach will work alongside colleagues in the Center for Pre-Health Advising (CPHA) to support key programs and outreach efforts. The position will assist the units with program implementation, assessment/evaluation, and priority setting, with an emphasis on sustainability over expansion.
Examples of duties and areas of focus:
- Proactively meet with key colleagues to identify top support needs and priorities
- Assist with program planning and implementation, e.g. Health Professions Shadowing Program, EMT Experience Program, Pre-Health Professional Development Programming
- Develop program/project summaries, reports, assessments, and recommendations for refining and enhancing programming, and outreach
- Participate in events and/or committees as a representative of CPHA
- Play an active role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Other duties and special projects related to office operations
Compensation and Schedule:
The Graduate Intern will work ~10 hours per week over Spring 2025 and ~20 hours per week over Summer 2025. This position pays $17-$17.50/hour (compensation is dependent on experience and qualifications).
Supervision:
This Graduate Intern will be directly supervised by the CPHA Lead for Professional Development Programming, with dotted line supervisory relationships with other staff members depending on the particular project. For example, CPHA’s Lead for Professional Development Programming will provide guidance surrounding the intern’s work related to Pre-Health Programming (e.g supporting PD committee work, HPSP, thinking about connections among CPHA offerings overall, etc.).
