ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

The Post Closing Specialist II reports to the Post Closing Team Lead and is responsible for the review and audit of closed loan packages from the Closing Attorney/Title Company.  This position will ensure timely receipt and review of all signed closing documents for accuracy, closing conditions are met, checks received are accurate.  In addition, the Post Closing Specialist II will work closely with KBM Fullfilment team and/or applicable Closing Attorney/Title Company to remedy all documentation, processing and compliance issues  prior to loans being delivered and purchased by Investors.  This individual will be experienced and proficient in at least one of the four functions within the post closing department. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ensure all closing documentation is received and reviewed in a timely manner in order to ensure the salability and insurability of the loan.
• Review of all closing documentation to ensure they are accurate, properly signed and notarized as required. 
• Identify document deficiencies and promptly remediate with the appropriate internal/external parties. 
• Update internal mortgage systems with accurate information.
• Understand and maintain up-to-date knowledge of various loan types and FNMA/FHLMC//FHA/VA /USDA and private Investor delivery requirements.
•  Performs role under limited supervision of Team Lead.
• Apply subject matter knowledge which requires the capacity to understand specific needs or requirements of the department.
• May perform special projects upon request of the Team Lead or Sr. Post Closing Specialist.
• May provide guidance to less experienced Post Closing Specialists.
• Other duties as assigned by Team Lead

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1 – 2+ years’ experience in residential mortgage lending, with Post Closing and/or Secondary Marketing/Shipping experience preferred.
• In depth knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, FHA, VA, USDA and private investor products.
• Thorough understanding of Federal and State regulations including but not limited to FHA/VA and Conventional guidelines, RESPA, TILA, HOEPA, , and QM.
• Proven ability to set priorities, understands urgencies, and reacts quickly to deadline/delivery requirements.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization and analytical problem resolution skills, as well as detail oriented.
• Consistently meet or exceed established metrics as set forth. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes short-term incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
