Position Summary

Our dynamic, growing organization seeks a Portfolio Manager to support fiscal sponsorship at Panorama Global. Panorama works to empower change agents, entrepreneurs, and funders looking to accelerate social impact by serving as fiscal sponsor and manager of multi-donor projects. The Portfolio Manager will be joining a team dedicated to fiscal sponsorship. Our team is committed to supporting one another, acknowledging and lifting-up our differences and strengths, and serving our fiscally sponsored projects with intentionality and cultural competence. 
 
The Portfolio Manager will oversee a portfolio of fiscally sponsored projects across multiple issue areas such as climate, health, and gender equality that have impact globally. They will be the primary contact and will work closely with internal Panorama staff to support these projects.  

This exempt, full-time position reports to the Program Officer. This position is fully remote within the United States on a permanent basis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities   

Relationship management

  • Serve as the relationship manager and key point of contact between an assigned portfolio of fiscally sponsored projects, internal Panorama staff, and external funders. 
  • Build trust and mitigate conflict with sponsored projects in an effort to foster cohesive working relationships.
  • Lead on crisis management regarding sponsored projects; coordinate internal stakeholders to evaluate situation and propose solutions.
  • Gain deep understanding of project activities, initiatives, and goals to ensure responsiveness to fiscal sponsorship needs as well as anticipate barriers or new developments that would impact fiscal sponsorship services or regulations. 
  • Lead communications and meetings with fiscally sponsored projects; support onboarding and offboarding of fiscally sponsored projects and their staff. 
  • Facilitate communication between internal staff and fiscally sponsored projects, ensuring information is accessible and understood between all parties.

 Operational oversight of fiscally sponsored projects  
  • Conduct strategic analysis of fiscally sponsored project activities, initiatives, and goals to identify opportunities and risks, inform internal finance and operations planning efforts, and to lead problem solving efforts with internal staff. 
  • Monitor and support the administrative and operational functions for fiscally sponsored projects, including grant proposal development, grant and contract management, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with IRS regulations for nonprofit entities. 
    • Provide oversight of revenue and expenses for a portfolio of projects in support of the Accounting and Accounts Payable team, including tracking invoices, pledged and received donations, expense reports, and credit card requests.  
    • Develop and submit grant proposals and grant deliverables in collaboration with the Grants/Contracts team and project teams, ensuring high quality and timely delivery. 
    • Coordinate with the Grants/Contracts team and project team on due diligence, disbursement, and deliverables for all outgoing grants to project partners and grantees.  
    • Collaborate with Financial Analysts to monitor, manage, and report on project financials.  
    • Monitor and support the drafting, review, and approval process for contracts, service agreements, and MOUs in collaboration with the Contracts team and project staff.  
    • Utilize platforms like Salesforce and Asana to manage project milestones, streamline communications, and oversee processes.  
 
Strengthen internal systems and knowledge
  • Identify fiscal sponsorship subjects or processes that require additional research and/or internal collaboration and lead or support efforts to fill gaps in knowledge. 
  • Leverage expertise and experience to provide guidance and mentorship to team members and promote a culture of continuous learning within the fiscal sponsorship team.  
  • Actively contributes to the enhancement of Panorama’s culture by participating in organization-wide activities.
  • Help capture sector knowledge, building blocks, and tools from fiscally sponsored projects that will benefit other social entrepreneurs, network leaders, and funders in the development and growth of their organizations and initiatives. 
  • May recruit and manage the Intern, Fiscal Sponsorship, ensuring Panorama’s performance management concepts are upheld, and supporting their professional development and learning. 

External relations
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Panorama at industry events, conferences, and workshops.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by meeting with & evaluating prospective partnerships.
  • Collaborate with External Affairs Team to monitor and uplift project updates through Panorama’s media channels.

 
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities   
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.  
  • Experience working in fiscal sponsorship or non-profit operations in either a professional or volunteer capacity. 
  • Experience applying an equity lens in relationship building and/or nonprofit operations. 
  • Experience navigating sensitive operating environments and using interpersonal and mediation skills in respectful, collaborative, and diplomatic ways.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; able to manage a high volume of work and competing priorities comfortably. 
  • Effective communication skills and ability to relay complex internal policies to external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of information and feedback and make strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and willingness to learn other software platforms. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; additional language proficiencies enhance global stakeholder engagement.

Compensation & Benefits      

The starting salary for this role is $68,000. When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors: candidate skill and experience; room for growth within the band; and internal equity across the team.
