PMO Manager

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as PMO Manager. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.
The Project Management Office (PMO) Manager oversees the project management practice, which includes governance, team leadership, tracking and monitoring, communication, and quality controls. These activities will ensure the delivery of project management services that meet organizational goals and requirements.  Responsibilities will require supervision, management, PMO staff, and collaboration with leadership at the departmental and executive levels. This job operates remotely in a professional office environment and could be requested to go onsite as required by business needs. 

Essential Duties

• Develop and align the PMO strategy with the organization's business goals and objectives.
• Establish and maintain PMO governance processes and monitoring.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of project managers, analysts, and other PMO staff.
• Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans for projects.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of the PMO and projects.
• Has an unwavering commitment to colleagues and customers to manage with compassion, vision, and unity.
• Must be flexible and perform special projects and other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• The ability to lead in a matrix reporting structure to accomplish objectives by collaborating with internal partners and leadership.
• A deep understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, such as PMBOK and Agile. Knowledge of the organization's industry, market dynamics, competitors, and strategic objectives.
• Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis related to project and portfolio management. 
• Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues. 
• Ability to participate in SOW/RFPs as needed.
• The capacity to adapt to changing project dynamics, technologies, and market conditions. 
• A willingness to explore innovative project management approaches and technologies. 

Professional Licenses/Certifications

• The successful candidate must possess at least 2 of the following certifications:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certification
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification
• Microsoft Project 2016/2019 Certification

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business or technology or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Five (5) or more years of managerial experience in a PMO environment and broad technology expertise

Salaries for Managers at Planet Technologies range from $160,000 and $210,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
