We are currently looking for students in a wide variety of STEM fields — physics, computer science, AI, neuroscience, chemistry, cryptography, mathematics/statistics, biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, geophysics, and more — to join our world-class team of engineers, scientists and technologists.

PhD AI Residency

Our ML team is focused on bringing cutting-edge techniques from multiple disciplines to bear on high-impact problems. We engage in deep research while maintaining close contact with the needs of the customers. As a resident, you will take ownership of a project to advance the way ML is used in the cybersecurity world. 

We are looking for an AI Resident with strong interest in applied research and strong engineering skills. 

The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team consisting of ML experts, mathematicians, and physicists, and will play a key role in efficient and effective enablement of the technologies being developed. 

Core Responsibilities

• Utilize language models via API, and work with local open-source models to drive advancements in ML
• Create and refine ML algorithms specifically tailored for cybersecurity applications
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate research outcomes into the product portfolio
• Analyze large-scale security data, including network traces, filesystems, and logs/event data, to uncover insights and drive innovation

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficient in rapid prototyping and deploying ML models using Python
• Familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.
• Up-to-date with recent developments in machine learning and privacy technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Working with language models via API
• Implementing local language open-source models
• Prior experience as a software engineer in the industry

Details

• Location: Remote
• Start date: Year-round, on a rolling basis
• Duration: Flexible, typically between 4 months to one year
• Eligibility:
• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in math, computer science, or related field.
• **Currently enrolled non-PhD post-graduate students may be considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g. currently enrolled in Masters)
• Proficiency with at least one programming language (Python, C/C++, Java, etc.)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $100k - $115k per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and equity.
