JOB SUMMARY

The pharmacy tech works cooperatively with licensed clinical staff to provide operational support, patient outreach and provider outreach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Description

  • Handles complex, escalated calls and other issues related to prior authorization from Customer Service and physician offices
  • Reviews pharmacy reports and updates clinical leadership
  • Oversees pharmacy team metrics
  • Assists with PA requests for medications
  • Assists with medication-related claims review

  • Understanding of Medicare Part B vs Part D as related to Prior Authorizations
  • Knowledge of HCPCS, CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with accurate work product

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Associate Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Managed care experience preferred

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE

Include minimum certification required to perform the job.

  • Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) preferred

Compensation and Benefit Information

Compensation

  • Pay: $17.20 - $25.70 per hour. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience. 
  • Position may be eligible for a signing bonus for qualified new hires, subject to employment status.
  • Conifer observed holidays receive time and a half.
