Summary:
In this role, you will provide expert guidance and support for alternate site of care and infusion pharmacy services in non-acute hospital settings, including home infusion, ambulatory infusion suites, centralized services (shared services), and physician office-based infusions. You will collaborate with health systems to develop comprehensive alternate site infusion business plans and support their implementation through effective engagement with healthcare teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on medication preparation, and administration for infusion therapies.
- Collaborate with health system providers to develop and optimize infusion services.
- Understand and develop plans to comply with applicable regulations, including USP <797> and USP <800>.
- Knowledge of infusion accreditation standards (e.g., ACHC, URAC).
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and implement necessary updates in policies and procedures.
- Assess and recommend improvement to alternate site pharmacy operations, including workflow efficiency, inventory management, and staffing.
- Support the implementation and optimization of infusion and pharmacy systems.
- Identify areas for improvement in service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Identify quality metrics and recommend initiatives to enhance performance.
- Recommend methods to grow the infusion pharmacy business, and develop action plans and metrics such as referral sources to expand the infusion pharmacy footprint.
- Partner with Vizient sales and marketing teams to identify and pursue growth opportunities in alternate site infusion services.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BSPharm) degree required.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
- 5 or more years of experience in infusion pharmacy preferred.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., BCNSP, BCSCP) preferred.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing in any US state.
- Familiarity with alternate site care models, including home infusion and ambulatory infusion services.
- Experience in a health system setting.
- Strong knowledge of infusion therapies, pharmacokinetics, and sterile compounding.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in pharmacy information systems and EMR platforms.
- Willingness to travel to various alternate care sites.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $223,200.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
