This is an 8-hour dayshift Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Pharmacy Clinical Program Senior Advisor – Medication Therapy Management

Role Summary:

This position is responsible for providing targeted Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services to poly-chronic, high-cost members within the Individual and Family Plans (IFP) who often face significant social determinants of health challenges. As a critical stakeholder in this hybrid MTM model, the pharmacist advisor will routinely liaison with external MTM vendor partners to continuously influence and enhance member outreach criteria to meet the evolving and dynamic clinical and socioeconomic needs of this patient population. This position will also play a vital role in driving programmatic expansion into other clinical initiatives such as specialty and chronic condition management and serve as the primary clinical pharmacy subject matter expert within the IFP segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize medication therapy for patients by conducting targeted comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs), documenting interventions, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary healthcare providers to ensure the highest quality of patient care

  • Serve as the primary liaison and decision-maker between Cigna IFP and external MTM vendor partner to ensure maximal value of program design and engagement

  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure MTM and other clinical pharmacy activities positively impact Total Cost of Care to ensure program sustainability

  • Create or enrich member and provider-facing pharmacy education materials and support tailored to the individual market segment

  • Serve as IFP Clinical Pharmacy advisory representative on various existing and future integrated clinical workstreams

  • Provide expertise to various condition-based program leads to enhance clinical affordability and total health outcomes

  • Assess fundamental gaps in current medication management activities and advise on solutions to ameliorate adherence, over/unnecessary utilization and high-risk/poly-chronic medication management

  • Support enterprise-driven pharmacy-related initiatives focused on quality, population health management, and social determinants of health for IFP

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Active, registered Pharmacist/PharmD in good standing in the state in which they reside

  • Experience in providing Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services and proficiency in utilizing MTM platforms and tools

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical pharmacy experience, preferably in a Health Plan or PBM setting

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

  • Experience developing end to end Pharmacy Clinical Programs

  • Solid understanding and application of evidence-based medicine, interpreting clinical literature, and standards of care

  • Results-driven with proven communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills working in a cross-functional and matrixed environment

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems

  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency

  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification

  • Certification in MTM services

  • Highly-evolved clinical pharmacy skills and/or clinical knowledge and application of chronic condition/population health management

  • Strong understanding of health disparities/SDOH and their impact on overall health outcomes

  • Previous experience with pharmacy quality HEDIS measures

  • Previous experience in Medicaid and/or Marketplace/Accountable Care plans

  • Expertise in specialty drug therapy management for high-cost and complex conditions

  • Skilled in clinical acumen to form a judgement and act

  • Ability to recognize, address and resolve conflicts in a professional, collaborative manner

  • Demonstrate sensitivity to culturally diverse situations, participants, and customers.

  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills and flexibility to meet the business needs

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to perform thorough internet research

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 125,100 - 208,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
