People Operations Systems Specialist

Remote (United States)

People Operations Systems Specialist, People Operations

Full-Time, Remote / Salary, Exempt / Includes Benefits, PTO, Equity

Steno is growing! We’re looking for a People Operations Systems Specialist to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond), and we’re crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry.

Who are you?

You’re an experienced HR or People Operations professional with a background in administration and experience using HR technology. You know and have experience with all the acronyms - HRIS, ATS, and LMS - and you’re passionate about everything people-focused (but your skills don’t stop there).

As our People Operations Systems Specialist, you’ll interface with all members of the People Operations team and, in some cases, across the organization, promoting healthy usage, maintenance, and programming of our HR technology. In this role, you’ll constantly innovate, strive for efficiency, and find strategic, operational leverage and data insights with everything you do.

As a primary administrative and project management support for the People Operations team, you are experienced in harnessing HR technology to orient companies for success. You know when to seek data insights to help stakeholders set goals and metrics, and when to engage in relationship management to change hearts and minds to deliver results on essential projects.

On a regular basis you will

  • Act as a first line of defense for inquiries to the People Operations team, create and deploy automations and workflows to handle repetitive questions, and seize opportunities to educate and inform where appropriate
  • Embed with People Operations team members to examine existing processes and workflows impacting the full employee lifecycle and find operational efficiencies to free the team up for more strategic endeavors
  • Support the VP of People Operations in legal research and compliance projects in a multistate environment, annual financial planning and modeling, creating and maintaining meaningful People Operations and team-specific reporting dashboards, and advise on employee experience and change management initiatives
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Manager (and broader Talent Acquisition Team) in examining new technologies and workflows, handling high-volume or high-touch requisitions, and integrating new tech or enhancements into our existing processes
  • Support the Learning & Development Manager in harnessing data insights to be found within the LMS, operationalizing LMS reporting to managers and stakeholders, and finding enhancements to existing integrations
  • Support the People Operations Generalist in managing the payroll approval and reconciliation process, including timecard review, auditing, and enhancement of timecard entry and manager-facing timecard approval workflows
  • Support the People Operations team in other high-touch and high-volume workflows, including status change requests, knowledge base enhancements and maintenance, onboarding tasks and requirements, event planning and logistics, employee appreciation initiatives, year-end reporting, and deploying of our New Hire Orientation programming and guidelines
  • Serve as a point of contact for other teams and departments throughout the organization regarding recruiting and onboarding needs, reporting and dashboard needs, use of the HRIS, ATS, and LMS, and other related technology on an as-needed basis

You’re gonna crush it if

  • You have 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible work in a professional HR/People Operations role and experience in high-growth tech or startup environments
  • You have a deep familiarity with HRIS and ATS technology, reporting, integrations, and project management software, and professional experience with LMS technology and related integrations
  • You have a bias for action! No problem is too big or small to solve; you pursue goals until the job is done
  • You are adept at putting your ego aside, receiving and acting on critical feedback, and operating comfortably amidst ambiguity; you have a professional level of emotional intelligence, and you treat everyone and every question with grace, respect, and hospitality
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills; you know how to adjust your approach, tone, and content based on your audience, and you know how to prioritize work received from multiple stakeholders
  • You possess expert-level Excel skills; this is important, so make sure your know-how extends far past pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • You have experience using Rippling (a bonus, not a necessity)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary - $68,640 - $85,000
  • Health, Vision, & Dental Benefits - generous company-sponsored health plans for both employees and dependents, including comprehensive vision & dental
  • Wellness/Mental Health - shared benefits to be used among employees and families
  • Flexible Paid Time Off - allowing employees to find balance in their lives
  • Options of Equity - we know our success is nothing without our team
  • Access to a 401k through Guideline
  • A home office setup and a monthly stipend to offset internet and phone costs
