FURTHER is seeking a People Operations Specialist to help shape and elevate our People processes as we continue to scale. This is a hybrid remote and in-office (3 days/week) role at our new office at Pencilworks in Brooklyn, New York. In this role, you will report to the Director of Operations and partner with our People team and key stakeholders to design and optimize onboarding programs, support immigration filings, and enhance HR operations. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for employees across the company.

What You’ll Own
  • HR Operations & Compliance: Support SOC 2 compliance, audits, and other regulatory requirements in collaboration with the Director of Ops and Executive team.

  • Immigration & Global HR Support: Assist with immigration filings and provide administrative support for international employees and benefits.

  • HR Process Automation: Leverage HRIS, ATS, and other systems to automate onboarding, compliance tracking, and employee lifecycle processes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency.

  • System Integrations & Optimization: Identify and implement integrations between HR tools and internal systems (e.g., Rippling, G-Suite, payroll, and compliance platforms) to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy.

  • HR Systems & Data Management: Maintain and improve HR systems, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement scalable HR solutions to streamline workflows and improve the employee experience.

  • Onboarding & Employee Experience: Collaborate with Talent Lead to project manage and enhance onboarding programs, ensuring new hires have a seamless transition.

  • Ad Hoc Projects: Partner with the Talent Lead, Executive team, and Director of Finance on initiatives such as global benefits, compliance projects, and other people-related priorities.

What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or a related field, preferably at a SaaS or tech company (start-up experience is a big plus!).

  • A deep understanding of HR operations, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.

  • Experience working with HR tools and systems (HRIS, ATS, payroll, benefits platforms, etc.).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to optimize processes and drive operational efficiencies.

  • A people-first mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Bonus Points
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, or native HRIS automation features) to enhance HR efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks.

  • Knowledge of API integrations to connect HR platforms and optimize data flow across systems.

Compensation Band

Our openings span more than one career level. The starting salary for this role is between $85,000 and $105,000 USD. The provided salary depends on many factors, such as location, work experience and transferable skills, business needs and impact, and market demands.
