About The Job: 

This year presents an exciting and interesting opportunity to scale people, processes, and develop management capability effectively in a constantly evolving business context. We’re looking for a passionate People Business Partner to be a trusted partner to our leaders and their teams, advising and coaching on all aspects of people management - Leadership Development, Organization Design, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, etc. This role will play a critical part in building management capability by educating and training managers on employee life cycle processes and people management.

You will join a People function that is also in a build mode and racing to get ahead of the needs of the business on the people front. Responsibilities: 

Strategic People Planning: 

  • Lead the development and execution of People Strategies in alignment with organizational goals and overall business strategy.
  • Drive the integration of People initiatives with broader business objectives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize organizational effectiveness through strategic HR practices.

Employee Relations: 

  • Serve as the first point of contact and a trusted advisor to employees  (triaging and escalating when appropriate, providing guidance and support on a wide range of professional and personal issues.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee experience and foster a culture of open communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain effective channels for employee feedback and issue resolution, ensuring a positive work environment.

Talent Management: 

  • Provide guidance to managers on career pathing and leveling, skill and professional development  alongside the Director, People Business Partners.
  • Drive initiatives to attract, retain, and develop top talent, including talent acquisition, career development, and succession planning.
  • Partner with the Director, People Business Partners to assess and address talent needs and gaps.

Performance Management: 

  • Collaborate with both the Director, People Business Partners and functional managers to design and implement performance management processes aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance feedback, goal setting, and development planning.
  • Help foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability through effective performance management practices.

Employee Engagement: 

  • Develop and implement strategies that enhance employee engagement and promote a positive company culture. 
  • Drive initiatives to gather and act upon employee feedback, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
  • Foster open communication channels between leadership and employees, facilitating the development and execution of action plans based on valuable employee feedback 
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create a more inclusive workplace.

Learning and Development: 

  • Assist with identifying and assessing organizational learning needs and develop strategies to address skill gaps and enhance employee capabilities.
  • Work with the Director, People Business Partners to design and deliver impactful learning programs that support professional growth and development.

Change Management: 

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers during periods of change, fostering resilience and adaptability.

Data Analysis: 

  • Identify trends and insights from People data to inform strategic initiatives and drive organizational performance.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and metrics to drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Skills / Experience You Have:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of previous HR/People Business Partner experience
  • Strong understanding of HR processes including management/leadership development, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Previous experience in designing and implementing management/leadership development programs and/or learning and development initiatives preferred 
  • Business savvy; can quickly develop the business sense to offer relevant solutions 
  • Highly adaptable, action-oriented, and solutions-focused.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that balances being assertive and humble – can overcome resistance and effectively manage change.
  • Ability to operate tactically and strategically, driving results.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • A positive can-do attitude; can navigate through the challenges and find solutions and will adapts quickly to feedback

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Nevada, Rhode Island, Washington, and New York City residents*  $100,000-$125,000 base salary  + RSUs + benefits.

Salary at SmartAsset is determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the contiguous United States.
