Peer Review Operations Coordinator

Leidos is seeking an experienced, analytical, and process-driven operations coordinator to join our grants management team supporting peer review activities for various federal grant-making agencies. This role is responsible for coordinating and monitoring a variety of tasks to ensure high-quality and efficient processes for grant application peer reviews. You will interface regularly with federal program managers, subject matter experts, and project leads to provide logistical support, grant application processing, timely reviewer payments, and concierge support services.

The Operations Coordinator position is a cornerstone of our program success and requires critical thinking, time management, strong communication skills, and a passion for teamwork. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, comfortable supporting multiple projects simultaneously, and enjoys working with people.

This is a full-time telework position.

In this role, you will:

  • Supports the screening, tracking, and quality control processes for grant applications in preparation for peer review. 

  • Coordinates special projects and ensures daily tasks and processes are responsive to changes.

  • Prepare, compile, and disseminate peer review materials and support reviewer collaboration sessions.

  • Engage subject matter experts and provide technical assistance, customer service, and logistical support throughout their peer review assignments.  

  • Support activities to receive, process, and track reviewer honorarium payments and expense reimbursements.

  • Assist with the training, coordination of work tasks, and monitoring of seasonal team members, including reviewing activities and deliverables, and observing compliance with processes, procedures, and regulations.

  • Occasionally lead peer review projects, serving as the primary interface for all phases of the grant application peer review process.

  • Contribute to program kickoff and debriefing meetings.

  • Craft reports, standard operating procedures, and other deliverables.

  • Champion continuous improvement, quality assurance, process efficiencies, and audit-related initiatives and tasks.

  • Assist with logistics for all review types, including providing technical support with the online platform for virtual reviews.

Basic Qualifications

For this position, you must possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in related field and 3 years of related experience.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication (verbally and in writing), and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools, especially Excel and Word, and project collaboration tools.
  • A government-issued Public Trust clearance prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management related certification such as PMP, CAPM, or related credential.
  • Grants management certification such as Certified Grants Management Specialist.
