Overview
The PE IT systems Engineering will be part of IT Engineering services infrastructure team of global operations infrastructure within the company and must work with existing system/storage administrators, other technical leads, network support, application analysts/developers/architects, and other IT personnel to resolve day-to-day issues and to execute upgrades during maintenance schedules. Ability to understand and follow technical manager guidelines and be a part of IT infrastructure business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineer team member of infrastructure Linux & Storage team.
- Design, delivery, operations, administration and troubleshooting of Rambus Global hardware EDA, software DevOps environment and local labs.
- Responsible for configuration, support, and problem resolution for EDA & software Linux compute/VM infrastructure
- Collaboration with cross functional teams of IT and vendors to participate in deploying virtualization infrastructure solution based on the project requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis to resolve issues quickly in a complex IT environment.
- Support high availability and security by updating and patching systems during maintenance schedules
- Responsible for global software engineering server and VM systems provisioning process
- Follow policies and procedures including those for ITIL incident, problem, change, release management and ISO 27001 guidelines
- Participate in evaluating tools or any other software applications relevant for engineering services
- Perform other duties as requested by team manager
- Support in off working hours on demand or priority incidents
- Visiting our SJ and SV Colo datacenters for any hardware installation and on-premises trouble shooting.
Working remotely and collaborating with team in office once a week.
Skills
- Strong working knowledge on various Linux Operating systems, Preferred Red hat/Centos/Ubuntu
- Strong working knowledge on DevOps tools and applications administration and support
- Strong working knowledge on HPE synergy chassis, C7000, BL&DL hardware platform
- Intermediate working knowledge of Netapp ontap cluster ontap software and hardware
- Strong working knowledge of Netapp and VMware integration
- Intermediate working knowledge of storage and control monitoring
- Intermediate working knowledge on cloud technologies (preferred Azure)
- Ability and experience with building highly available, robust, manageable, and secure solutions
- Strong communication skills (written and presentations)
- Must be able to work well with others
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
- On call support to respond on any weekend emergency issues
- Experience with at least one scripting language (Shell/Perl/Python).
