A Brief Overview
The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the daily workflow as a seasoned expert in payroll tax. The role will serve as an auditor to daily workflow processes and identify best practice enhancements.

What you will do

  • Has a strong knowledge base of Payroll and Payroll Tax policies and procedures. Developing advanced skills in tax agency correspondence in order to perform in-depth research relating to tax compliance, reporting, and W2's.
  • Partners with colleagues and customers to resolve customer inquiries.
  • Performs escalated case research and follow up to customers via email and phone.
  • Resolves mid –high complexity, high volume tasks related to Tax Compliance, Reporting, and W2 workflows.
  • Serves as a peer mentor to workflow colleagues, performs peer audits and provides feedback to collogues in reference to the weekly audits.
  • Participates in internal department projects as needed and serves as a workflow Subject Matter Expert.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Manage client communications through cases in salesforce (cases, email, telephone and virtual meetings). Ensuring all communications are documented timely per documented SLA's and provide clear details for client accounts.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation and adopt a positive customer-centric approach in resolving customer issues.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience - Preferred 

Experience Qualifications

  • Typically 2+ years

  • Ability to handle detailed wage and tax transactions, prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines and improve efficiency 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing work environment, while leading multiple priorities 
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality 
  • Experience with web-based payroll software 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) - Preferred 
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) plus

Work Environment

  • Remote work location. Candidate must have an appropriate home office and internet connection is required. Overtime may be required as projects dictate primarily during reporting months. Use of headset to communicate is required. Noise level in the environment is usually moderate. The salary range for this role is $55,100 to $112,500. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience. 

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
