ROLE OVERVIEW  

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Central Payroll team. The Specialist will support our efforts to process payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and fee-for-service employees. The role requires comfort around nuance and change with a complex environment. 

COMPENSATION: $60,000 - 75,000/annually

This position is fully remote and can be performed anywhere within the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Administer the successful processing of the bi-weekly and monthly, multi-state payroll for 5,000+ employees 

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with LifeStance policies and in accordance with all federal/state/local regulations 

  • Process payroll level data for new hires, employee status changes, and terminations 

  • Research and resolve payroll related inquiries in a timely matter 

  • Calculate and process payroll adjustments as required 

  • Develop appropriate SOP’s and Job-Aids  

  • Assist Internal Audit with periodic audits of various payroll controls to ensure compliance with SOX 

  • Help facilitate payroll processes with newly acquired practices as they integrate into LifeStance 

  • Other payroll operational projects and duties as assigned 

  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions/updates as needed 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, or a similar field of study preferred 

  • 5+ years of multi-state and multi-entity payroll administration experience 

  • Detailed knowledge of full payroll process including taxes, deductions, benefits, 401k, and federal/state regulations 

  • Experience in healthcare industry preferred 

  • Demonstrate strong Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, formulas, macros) 

  • Knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow preferred 

  • Proven analytics and problem-solving skills; ability to create adhoc reports from payroll system 

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required
