Payroll Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will play a crucial part in processing payroll for employees across 17 countries in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with the Senior Manager of Global Payroll to ensure accurate and compliant payroll operations, supporting our diverse and growing global workforce.
This is a full-time position located in New York City. We offer flexible workplace policies that allow for working remotely 3 days a week and require being in our NYC office 2 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and review payroll for employees using the Deel platform across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and regional teams, to gather payroll-related data and address inquiries.
- Work closely with Deel local payroll managers to ensure seamless payroll execution in all regions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international payroll laws and regulations, proactively addressing compliance requirements.
- Prepare and validate payroll reports, reconciliations, and tax filings as required by local authorities.
- Handle employee payroll-related inquiries, providing timely and clear responses.
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of global payroll systems and processes.
- Ensure accurate and secure maintenance of payroll records in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a global or multi-country environment.
- Familiarity with international payroll regulations and tax laws across Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPP, CPM) is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Results-driven, strong organizational and planning skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with office management software or tool.
- Experience with NetSuite(accounting) and Deel (HRIS) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and understanding of cultural differences in different regions with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and manage a variety of task with a positive attitude.
Compensation
Expected Salary*: $61,700-70,000
Target Incentive bonus: 10%
*Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, location and applicable laws.
