  • Estimated annual base pay:  $101,200(minimum) - $126,500(midpoint) - $151,800(maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark?  If you’re a Payroll Manager with Workday experience, we have an exciting opportunity for you.  This position reports to the Vice President, HR Operations and manages all aspects of payroll for Woodward's domestic locations. The Manager Payroll oversees the end-to-end payroll process for a multi-state, multi-company enterprise while ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory agencies and maintaining a laser focus on quality and customer service. This position also drives standard work, error-proofing and continuous improvement efforts throughout the Payroll function. Woodward is newly transitioning to Workday Payroll, leveraging an outsourced solution for settlement and taxes.

What You Will Be Doing 

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Manage payroll processes and vendor.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to payroll processing.
  • Lead small team (1-2) of payroll staff and ensuring that they are trained, motivated, and working effectively.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolves concerns. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Work with the HRIS team to maintain payroll systems, ensure data integrity and implement system upgrades and enhancements.

What We Are Looking For 

  • Payroll Processing: A thorough understanding of payroll processing, including tax withholding, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Workday payroll: Experience managing payroll systems, including software implementation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations, including tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and employment laws.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: A strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve payroll issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Team Management: Experience managing payroll staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze payroll data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing regulations, requirements, and technology to ensure compliance and efficient payroll processing.
