Job Details Compensation: Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location. The annual base pay range for this position is $59,000.00-$67,500.00
Additional Compensation: Employees may be eligible to receive annual incentive bonuses depending on their job classification and the policy guidelines.
Benefits: Employees are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, and telemedicine benefits. Employees are provided company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance as well as short-term and long-term disability. Employees are also able to enroll in the company’s 401k retirement savings plan.
Paid Time Off: Employees accrue 0.0654 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a maximum of 136 hours per calendar year. Employees receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and employees accrue up to a maximum of 4 paid floating holidays per calendar year.

The Payroll Clerk (West Coast) is responsible for processing payroll for associates at Towne Park. This includes calculating wages, preparing and distributing paychecks, and ensuring that all payroll transactions are accurate and compliant with relevant laws and regulations. Payroll Clerk may also be responsible for maintaining payroll records, responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, and assisting with payroll tax filings. Strong attention to detail, numerical skills, and knowledge of payroll software are required for this role.
Essential Functions

- Pays employees by calculating pay and deductions and issuing pay.
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system, as well as retrieving data when necessary.
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
- Communicates payroll deductions to retirement administrators for 401(k) plans and other pre-taxation savings plans.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations of bonuses and other salary-based compensation.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and interacting with HR.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field OR equivalent years of experience preferred
Required Licensure, Certification, etc.
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred
- Previous payroll software experience a plus
- Prior Workday payroll experience a plus
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) a plus
Work Experience
- One to two years of payroll experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations
- Knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliation and reporting
- Knowledge of payroll tax compliance in a multi-state environment
- Knowledge of minimum wage tip credit in a multi-state environment
- Knowledge of the regulatory standards and policies and procedures of payroll
- General bookkeeping knowledge
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment adhering to strict deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and various payroll and timekeeping technology applications
- Written and verbal communication skills to effectively address all levels within the organization
- Ability to represent the company effectively in a variety of settings with a demonstrated understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and corporate communications
- Ability to compose professional internal and external business communications including reports, memos, letters, and e-mails
Work Environment
- The majority of work will be performed in climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to inclement weather and varying degrees of temperatures on occasion.
