The System Engineering Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) department is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) with the technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems
The Switzerland Patriot Bodluv GR Commercial Contract (BCC) Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) will be directly responsible to ensure the quality and success of all systems engineering technical execution of the BCC scope. This role will require broad technical understanding of Air and Missile Defense Systems including engineering and manufacturing development standards, processes, and best practices. This position will directly interface with the Switzerland Government customer in addition to two key international suppliers located in Switzerland.
This position is located in Bern, Switzerland and is a 2 year international assignment with addition compensation emoluments.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Provide BCC systems engineering technical leadership across globally distributed cross functional team, with representatives from Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, IPT/CPT Leadership, and Program Office
- Maintain BCC Technical Baseline and ensure technical integrity and systems engineering execution across all Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Cross Product Teams (CPTs), and disciplines within the Program to cost, schedule, technical requirements
- Manage and influence customer expectations through timely and accurate communication; advocate for most effective user solutions and capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership, oversight and support to BCC Swiss supplier Engineering execution, including requirements allocation, design implementation and best practices, test planning and test execution
- Provide supplier support in regard to requirements understanding and expectations on Raytheon acceptance of hardware
- Provide supplier guidance with Raytheon’s Engineering gate/design review process (e.g. Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review, Production Readiness Review, and Ship Readiness Review)
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in Patriot Program system design, development, integration/verification, production, and sustainment
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:

- Ability to investigate a variety of complex and unbounded technical challenges and drive them to closure.
- Direct experience with International FMS and/or DCS programs and International
- Supplier’s/Partner’s engineering execution
- Direct experience with test planning and execution
- Direct experience in concepts of operations development and/or design of system level architecture
- Experience working programs with new design elements
- Direct experience managing resources with annual budgets exceeding $25 million
- Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management
- Demonstrated experience with globally distributed engineering execution organizations (CONUS and OCONUS)
- Existing Secret Clearance (DoD)

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
