Patient Registration Representative
Remote, UT, United States
Location: Remote
Shifts Available: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM MST or Monday-Friday 9:30AM-6:00PM MST
As our Patient Registration Representative, you’ll be answering a lot of incoming calls (6 to 8 calls an hour) and using your excellent customer service and communication skills to ensure the patient’s needs are met. You’ll be responsible for registering for multiple hospitals and medical centers. This is a fast-paced position which will rely on your proven ability to multi-task and desire to help patients. Build trust in these interactions by collecting information accurately and quickly but also by listening with compassion - not just to hear information, but to address their fears, concerns, and questions.
To thrive in this position, you will need to be calm and attentive as you answer patient calls. You’ll use your prior experience with a variety of software and navigating multiple systems to collect patient information and enter it into multiple computer systems. You will make phone calls to medical centers to solve issues. You’ll use your communication and problem-solving skills to answer questions from patients as well as physicians and their staff.
Here’s what you can expect working in Patient Registration (Customer Service):
· Working on computers and answering phones to intake information in a busy environment. You’ll work across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly. You should feel comfortable working across multiple programs and typing as quickly as patients can talk.
· Helping people who may be very ill or worried. We’re not human computers intaking information. Patients need you to be there for them and listen carefully to ease their anxiety. You’ll ask follow-up questions and build rapport in real time.
· While collecting patient and insurance information may seem straightforward, there is a lot of variation in health plans and coverage, that will require knowledge through training. While the data you collect may be predictable, the people you’ll get it from aren’t. You must work quickly and expect the unexpected. This is not a casual desk job.
· A team you can rely on. We care about your progress toward career goals. This is just the first step of your healthcare career at R1 RCM Inc.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Excellent customer service experience
