ROLE OVERVIEWÂ Â
The Patient Collections Coordinator is charged with the medical billing activities related to services provided by LifeStance Health and associated clinical practices. The coordinator will work collaboratively with patients and office team members to ensure that billing practices are complete and accurate. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a strong desire to work individually while meeting the needs of a national organization. An important key requirement is the self-accountability to drive success in a virtual team environment. This position is a remote role with the ability to sit within any US locality where LifeStance is represented. A Patient Collections Coordinator is responsible for all functions related to the collection of payment on patient accounts.Â
HOURLY: $19.40 - 21.00/hour
RESPONSIBILITIESÂ Â
Maintain current information on correct and lawful practices for billing payersÂ
Make outbound phone calls to patients regarding aging balancesÂ
Manage inbound/outbound and written correspondence to and from patients regarding billing issues and statement questionsÂ
Utilize worklists to identify and address claims processing issues and ensure accuracy of patient balancesÂ
Work closely with front office staff to identify and correct inaccuracies in patient accountsÂ
Negotiating reasonable payment plans when patients are unable to pay bills due to financial hardshipÂ
Handle all aspects of the collection process as it relates to patient balancesÂ
Follow established policies and procedures to safeguard collection Â
Assist with other patient collections duties as neededÂ

SKILLS & EXPERIENCEÂ
High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredÂ
1+ years of medical facility or medical office billing experienceÂ
Experience with automated billing systems preferredÂ
Experience with training in business office activities âŚ
