Patent Paralegal, Technical Specialist

We are looking for a Patent Paralegal/Technical Specialist. In summary, the role will involve docketing patent applications and assisting with all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and maintenance
- Docketing both U.S. and foreign patent applications
- Preparing and filing Information Disclosure Statements with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Preparing drawings and sending drafts of patent drawings to draftsmen for preparation
- Proofread formal drawings for patent applications
- Communicating with foreign associates for the filing and prosecution of foreign patent applications
- Reviewing Office Actions from U.S. and foreign patent offices for cited references
- Reviewing patent files for prior art before payment of issue fee and upon intake into the firm
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of patent office rules and procedures in connection with U.S. and foreign duty of disclosure and other areas of patent prosecution
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related fields
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in patent docketing, patent prosecution, and/or working for the USPTO
- Skills: Strong analytical, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
Bonus Qualifications:
- Registered as a patent agent before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
- Robotics or artificial intelligence (AI)
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
