Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. This position is to serve as a Flight Instructor - Airplane, providing flight instruction to students enrolled in aviation academic courses with flight labs at the University of North Dakota. A valid Flight Instructor Airplane Certificate and medical must be held to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The following are the required duties and responsibilities for this position:
    • Provide highest quality of flight training to students.
    • Provide customer service.
    • Follow the TCO requirements & standards that apply to each student.
    • Teach and adhere to appropriate UND standardization manual.
    • Maintain pilot proficiency.
    • Display professionalism.
    • Accurate record keeping.
    • Adhere & promote the Safety Management System (SMS).

The new employee training will start on Monday January 6, 2025. - (Essential)

Required Competencies

  • Ability to work well with others in a close environment.

Minimum Requirements (please be sure to include all of the below information in your resume or cover letter):

  • Hold/actively working on a bachelor’s degree in aviation.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate & Instrument Rating – Airplane.
  • Flight Instructor Certificate – Airplane.
  • Valid Class 1, 2, or 3 FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Experience as a student or flight instructor in a Part 141 training program.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flight Instructor – Instrument Airplane.
  • G1000 experience.
