Description

 The work involves the responsibility for independently performing complex clerical operations and administrative support tasks. Incumbents spend a substantial amount of time operating a personal computer and the rest of the time on routine administrative tasks to ensure the efficient workflow of the office. The work also involves responsibility for the entry and retrieval of information using software on a computer and using a computer to produce printed material such as letters, memorandum and forms. 

Incumbents work under general supervision receiving detailed instructions only where policies have not been determined. This class differs from that of Typist by the increased time spent on operating software and the more limited scope of duties and decision-making responsibilities. In the county service, this employee is primarily involved in overseeing a complex clerical procedure, which may involve steady or recurring supervisory responsibilities.

  •  Performs routine typing and clerical work involving standardized clerical tasks; performs related duties
     as required. 



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Knowledge of title insurance or real estate helpful.
  • Proficient on computer; typing speed of 50+ wpm.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under deadlines and to work independently.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; accuracy/quality; detail oriented; teamwork; cooperation.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time in order to process files in a timely manner.
  •  Modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
  •  Telephone techniques and etiquette. 
  • Record keeping and filing techniques. 
  • Appropriate terminology of assigned function. 
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. 
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. 
  • Oral and written communications skills. 
  • Operation of a computer. 
  • US and Canada resident only.
  •  Minimum Qualifications: •High School Diploma •Two years of clerical experience, including typing (minimum 40 wpm)

Under this arrangement, the employee is provided with an annual opt out payment.
