We are looking for a passionate and driven Senior Structural Analysis and Design Engineer (Senior Engineering Specialist- Aeronautical and Aerospace Structural Engineering) to work part-time and join our experienced team. You will perform detailed structural analyses on space and airborne systems while also developing new mechanical designs.
Work Model
This part-time position has the option to be fully remote anywhere within the United States as the business needs allow. Part-Time employment consists of a workweek that is more than 20 hours per week, but less than 40 hours per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform detailed finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate stress, strain, deformation under various loading scenarios, including random vibration and static loads
- Work directly with mechanical design teams to optimize structural designs
- Develop and improve mechanical designs using CAD software
- Generate presentations and reports to document analysis
- Mentor staff on how to best use finite element analysis tools
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Senior Engineering Specialist - Aeronautical and Aerospace Structural Engineering:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural analysis using classical hand calculations and FEA software
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design using CAD software
- Willing to travel occasionally throughout the year to support meetings and reviews
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out

- Experience in creating FAA structural reports
- Experience with analyzing systems for spaceflight environments
- Ability to use multiple FEA tools such as NX Nastran and ANSYS

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
