Project Title: Asian Cohort for Alzheimer's Disease (ACAD)
Position Title/Summary: Part-Time Research Assistant (RA) - Level 2
Research Assistant (Level 2) – (20%, 8 hours/ week). Korean speaking registered nurse (RN). She/he will be trained by the PI, Dr. Lee, and key investigators and will be required to be certified with bloodborne pathogen training and CPR. S/He will conduct health survey interviews to assess memory impairment and other thinking skills, judge functional abilities, and identify behavior changes and is involved in blood sampling process. The PI and Korean Neuropsychologists will train bilingual Korean American RA through a three day-standardized training. After completion of the training, the trained and certified Korean RN will administer the cognitive assessment battery and collect blood samples.
Proposed Start and End Date: 05/25/2024 to 06/30/2027
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct health survey interviews in Korean or English.
- Enter data into Redcap: Able to view and edit on a webpage in REDCap (data entry forms).
- Collect blood sample and conduct centrifuge, plasma and buffy coat allocation.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual total base pay for this position is $20,800 or $50 per hour (8 hours per week). New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
This position requires strong verbal and written proficiency in Korean and English. The PI and research team is looking for a dependable individual who possesses a strong work ethic, strong research interest and skills, and strong professional communication and detailed oriented skills. Applicant should be able to work independently (as well as with a team).
a) Minimum required education: BSN
b) Minimum required experience: minimum of 3 years of nursing experiences
c) Advanced skill to collect blood samples from older adult population
d) Professional knowledge and skills to follow standard biosafety practices
c) Language skills: Bilingual Korean and English (able to work on the Korean version of the health survey for dementia)
Preferred Skills:
a) Preferred education: BSN or Graduate student
b) Preferred experience: working with Korean American older adults
c) Preferred skills: good communication skills and can run culturally sensitive interviews with older Korean American research participants
d) Proficient with computer-based applications such as MS Office, video-conference platforms (e.g., ZOOM), and data capture systems (e.g., REDCap)
