Project Title: “NYUCI-ES: Psychosocial Intervention to Improve Health Outcomes for Chinese and Korean Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Caregivers”

Position Title/Summary: Part-Time Research Assistant (RA) - Level 1

NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing is seeking Level 1 bilingual part-time research assistant (English/Chinese). The researcher will be involved in a project, entitled “NYUCI-ES: Psychosocial Intervention to Improve Health Outcomes for Chinese and Korean Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Caregivers,” aiming at developing a culturally tailored intervention based on the NYU Caregiver Intervention. We will expect the researcher to handle assigned tasks, including screening and recruiting participants, promoting the study in community settings, and assisting with data entry.

Proposed Start Date: January 2025. The contract may be ended or renewed by or after August 2025. The end date may be adjusted depending on various factors.

Job Location: 380 2nd Avenue, Suite 303, Room 311, New York, NY 10010; hybrid work schedule (be available to meet regularly via Zoom or on campus).

Expected # of Hours: 20 hours per week (with a flexible schedule to accommodate other commitments).

 Other Responsibilities:

a)  Serve as an assistant to the principal investigators and study team. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling the time for home visits and counseling, screening and recruiting the participants, and completing baseline and follow-up interviews with participants if needed.

b)    Attend community events to promote our study and set up devices for community presentations if necessary.

c)     Enter data collected for a clinical trial into REDCap.

d)    File, copy, and submit travel reimbursements, as well as order supplies.

e)     Have the ability to maintain confidentiality.

f)     Perform other duties as assigned.

g)    Indicate the specific duties and responsibilities of the researcher’s position.

 

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual total base pay for this position is $36,400 or $35 per hour (20 hours per week). New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

a) Minimum required education: undergraduate degree associated with nursing, medicine, gerontology, psychology, health counseling, social work, and other health-related fields.

b) Minimum required experience: 0-1 year of experience in research involving human participants.

c) Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese and English.

d) Strong computer and technical skills, including proficiency with MS Office, REDCap, and video-conference platforms (e.g., Zoom).

e) Strong work ethics and communication skills.

f) Enthusiasm for learning about research.

Preferred Qualifications:

a)     Ability to handle multiple priorities.

b)    Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

c)     Prior experience in contributing to health-related research.
