JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research has an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain skills relevant to information technology.
For the internships, candidates will be assigned to one or more projects that utilize a variety of skillsets including:
Programming
Business Analysis
Data Analysis
System Administration
Application Administration
The student will be paired with experienced IT (Information Technology) professionals in the Office of the Associate Vice President for Research and other University offices to work on real-world solutions for Penn State.
This opportunity is open to all students. Interested students must meet the criteria below to be considered for this internship:
Be enrolled in a degree-earning program
A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
An interest in a career in programming, business management, information technology, or a related field
Must be a motivated self-starter and take direction well
Must be a good communicator
Compensation and Schedule: This is a paid position at a rate of $18.00 per hour. The student can work up to 24 hours per week for 12 weeks for a maximum of 300 hours. The internship will run from mid-May 2025 to mid-August 2025. This position is remote.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
