Cleerly is creating a new standard of care for heart disease through value-based, AI-driven precision diagnostic solutions with the goal of helping prevent heart attacks. Our technology goes beyond traditional measures of heart disease by enabling comprehensive quantification and characterization of atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup, in each of the heart arteries. Cleerly’s solutions are supported by more than a decade of performing some of the world’s largest clinical trials to identify important findings beyond symptoms that increase a person’s risk of heart attacks. 

At Cleerly, we collaborate digitally and use a wide variety of systems. Our people use Google Workspace (GMail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Slack, Confluence/Jira, and Zoom Video, prior experience in these areas is a plus. Role or department specific technology needs may vary and will be listed as requirements in the job description. 

About the Opportunity
Cleerly is currently recruiting for the position of Associate General Counsel (Compliance); this role will be part-time, working a maximum of 25 hours per week. This role will support all compliance aspects of Cleerly’s business. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in a large law firm and/or in house experience from a compliance and/or legal department in the healthcare industry. This position is fully remote and will report to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities
● Review advertising, marketing and educational materials for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Cleerly compliance policies.
● Provide advice and counsel to Commercial, Scientific Affairs, Regulatory, Marketing and other relevant functions on strategies, policies, and practices with respect to compliance with relevant healthcare laws, guidance documents or opinions, and industry codes (including FDCA, HIPAA, FDA guidance documents, fraud and abuse laws, Anti- kickback Statute, Sunshine Act, AdvaMed Code and OIG Advisory Opinions, etc.).
● Prepare and conduct compliance training.
● Prepare regular compliance updates for company-wide communications.
● Review and update company compliance policies on a periodic basis.
● Collaborate with outside counsel as needed on compliance and healthcare law issues.
● Assist with any projects related to compliance and healthcare legal issues within the Cleerly Legal and Compliance departments.● Monitor regulatory changes and advise the company on risk mitigation strategies from a legal and compliance perspective.

Skills and Abilities
● Organizational skills: Prioritize and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
● Problem-solving: Recognize problems and devise solutions to conflicts and difficult issues in a professional manner.
● Communication skills: Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
● Liaise with outside counsel and regulatory authorities.
● Legal research skills: Excellent legal research skills are required.

Requirements
● JD degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school and successful completion of the state bar exam.
● At least 6+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house.
● Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships internally and externally to ensure that company objectives are achieved.
● Healthcare industry experience preferred (med device, pharma, life sciences, etc.).

Hourly rate: $120/hr - $130/hr
*This role will be eligible for a 15% annual bonus which will be prorated for the first year of
employment, depending on start date. We hire employees anywhere within the United States
and account for geography when determining the final pay rate.
