Job Description
We’re looking for a Part-time Accounting Manager to provide coverage for a team member who is going on parental leave.
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations. This includes ensuring smooth financial processes, compliance with accounting policies, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for maintaining financial security, preparing financial statements, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and managing vendor relationships. You will also play a critical role in establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate and timely financial data.
* This opportunity is for part-time, temporary employment (up to 8 hours/week). Flexible schedule and fully remote. Must be available for 1-2 days of training in December and January and able to commit to working from February through May 2025.*
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping: Actively work and manage the day-to-day finance functions, including outgoing payments
Vendor Finance Relations: Vendor onboarding and account maintenance, including problem resolution (all housed in bill.com)
Financial reporting: Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including booking journal entries, preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business activity reports
Internal controls: Ensuring compliance with internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
Financial security: Maintaining financial security by establishing internal controls and keeping information confidential
Accounting policies and procedures: Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures, complete transactional accounting, account reconciliations, and participate in closing processes
Qualifications
5-8 years of finance/accounting experience
CPAs strongly preferred
Experience with accounting software and financial systems (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across teams
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach
High level of confidentiality and professionalism
Knowledge of advanced Excel or financial modeling skills

Compensation range: $35 - $55/hour. This represents the expected compensation range for this job requisition
