About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our Legal Department at Aspire General Insurance. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support to our team and assist in managing the company’s legal affairs, with a focus on insurance-related matters. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to handle confidential information with integrity, and a thorough understanding of legal principles relevant to the insurance industry.

What you'll do

  • Document Preparation and Management:
    • Draft, review, and revise various legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
    • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Manage and maintain organized and accurate records, files, and databases.
  • Legal Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
    • Summarize and present findings to attorneys for use in case development and strategy planning.
  • Case Management:
    • Assist in all stages of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
    • Coordinate and manage the collection, review, and production of documents in response to discovery requests.
    • Monitor and manage case deadlines and schedules.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions.
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of legal templates and standard operating procedures.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as billing, timekeeping, and expense reporting.
  • DOI complaints 
    • Manage and track all DOI complaints 

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
    • Paralegal certification from an ABA-accredited program is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably within the insurance industry or a law firm specializing in insurance law.
    • Experience with litigation support and case management.
    • Experience with automobile insurance preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
