Madison International Partners (MIP) celebrates the rich diversity of many international students, visitors, and residents in Madison, Wisconsin. MIP provides a “home away from home” to internationals in Madison and allows Americans to “travel the world without leaving Madison.”
The mission of Madison International Partners is to offer an in-depth cross-cultural experience to Americans and internationals living, studying, and working in Madison. Through our various programs and activities, we create the conditions for international experience-sharing and gaining a better understanding between people of different races, cultures, religions, and social backgrounds.
We are committed to help internationals and their family members experience and enjoy American culture, make significant friendships, and adjust to life in the US. We help internationals improve their English skills by matching them up with native English speakers for conversation and friendship. This also offers Americans the opportunity to be exposed to foreign cultures without leaving home.

Position Overview:
Madison International Partners (MIP) provides services and programs which built cross-cultural friendships and help internationals, international students, visiting scholars and their families to feel welcome, while adjusting to life in the US.
Madison International Partners is seeking a dedicated student willing to take on the internship positions that are currently open. The student interns will work alongside the Executive Director and his team of dedicated volunteers to advance the mission of the organization in a way that has a long term impact on people served. The interns’ primary function is to help the MIP serve the international community living and working in Madison. Responsibilities include liaison with student organizations and assistance in planning, executing and evaluating MIP’s programs and activities.
Purpose:
- To allow the interns to grow in their ability to learn from, love, and serve internationals.
- To provide a safe place for the interns’ professional development.
- To provide opportunities for the interns to develop leadership skills and discernment
- To provide the interns with the opportunity to work with internationals in a variety of capacities and in a cross-cultural environment.
Accountability:
- These part-time positions reports directly to the Executive Director. This person must be able to complete tasks on time, attend scheduled meetings, and inform supervisor of any concerns or conflicts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing programs and events (in person and online events).
- Assist with the recruitment of volunteers for various community and encourage their active participation to various MIP’s programs and activities;
- Promote Madison International Partners’ programs and activities on UW Campus;
- Keep the website up to date
- Run MIP's social media pages (instagram, facebook, etc,...)
- Design and produce brochures/fyers for Madison International Partners' programs and activities;
- Follow with those inquiring about MIP
- Identify and build relationships with international student organizations. (students, faculty & staff);
- Establish a working connection with other organizations that serve internationals;
- Available on Fridays and some 4th Saturday of the month (Jan. Feb. April, May, Sept, &Oct,)
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- A cooperative, team-spirit approach;
- Ability to manage Zoom Meetings
- Knowledge of Canva
- Basic computer skills
